Joomla 1.5 reviews: Templates, components, modules

The Notebook by Mr. Furetto is a 3 column template with a writing pad theme. The first bug we ran into was a missing ReadMe.txt file in the template zip package.  Once solved, the install went smoothly.  Aside from the download problem, the template tested well in our cross browser test using Firefox and Internet Explorer.  The template used the standard Joomla! postions and navigation was fairly easy. 

The styling of the Notebook template left me scratching my head.  On the one hand, I could imagine this being used as an online diary or a group website, but definitely not mainstream.  It looked a little like a notebook you would expect to see in Raiders of the Lost Ark with Indiana Jones swinging from a jungle vine.  Theme aside, I felt the links used almost the same color as the text camoflaging them - not ideal.  Also, once I moused over the links their color didn't really change that much making them hard to identify.  Overall, a cool niche template that needs some tweaking.
