Review

Just in time for Valentine's Day is Hearts from SiteGround.  This candy apple red, heart filled template certainly lives up to its name, but the poor layout gives me heartburn.  This template makes use of a 3 column layout which I liked.  It also seems to follow the Joomla! Positions.  On the other hand, the module placement on the right-hand column (see image 4 in photo gallery) exposed a poor use of space.  Again, the interior page (see image 3 in photo gallery) is also poorly designed and I had to scroll through a large white space before arriving at the content module.

This template also does not use drop down menu positions as it should (see image 5 in photo gallery).  Instead, child menu items are just added after the last parent item.  So, if you want a drop down menu, you will need to use custom CSS or a component that uses drop down menus.  The template tested well in our cross browser test in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.  There are no parameters so any modifications will need a CSS modification or the use of an extension.  Overall, Hearts was a real disappointment because of its rushed and poorly thought out design.

*Layout issues were resolved when tested at higher screen resolutions.  We test at 1280x720 as that a fairly standard laptop screen resolution.  Design templates and testing is advisable at this resolution because it resolves bugs as noted above.
